25 de jul. de 2022 · Paul Sorvino, an imposing actor who specialized in playing crooks and cops including Paulie Cicero in “Goodfellas” and the NYPD sergeant Phil Cerretta on “Law & Order,” died Monday. He was 83.
In 1991, Paul Sorvino played a mobster in the film The Rocketeer. Like Dick Tracy , that film was a period adventure inspired by character from a work of sequential art. The Lips Manlis action figure produced by Playmates Toys for the 1990 feature film was uncommon in that it did not include any kind of melee weapon (as most of the other villain figures did).
Born Paul Anthony Sorvino in Brooklyn, NY he was a severe asthmatic as a child, but found relief in various breathing exercises. Among these were vocal and singing lessons, which started Sorvino on his initial career path of becoming an opera singer.
