Hace 5 días · In 1833 Lord Francis Leveson-Gower, second son of the first Duke of Sutherland, inherited Bridgwater House and the income arising out of the Bridgwater estates, and, under the terms of the third Duke of Bridgwater's will, assumed the name of Egerton.

Hace 4 días · In 1838 there was a parish church school and infants' school at Limpsfield, and when Brayley wrote there was also 'a handsome school-house built by Mr. W. Leveson-Gower on the road to Titsey.' This school, which was built to serve Titsey and Limpsfield, was presented by Mr. G. W. G. Leveson-Gower to the rector and churchwardens in 1871.
