Hace 3 días · Thomas was succeeded by his brother Henry, earl of Sussex, who held the manor by 1592. Henry died in the following year and his heir, Robert Radcliffe, in 1602 sold it to Thomas (later Sir Thomas) Stewkeley of Marsh (Som.) and Hinton Ampner (Hants).
Hace 1 día · Robert, Earl of Sussex, was Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire in 1537 and high steward of the Duchy in 1539 and 1540. He died in 1542, holding the manors of Radcliffe at Tower, Moston, and Crumpsail, and leaving a son and heir Henry, aged twenty-five and more ; Chan. Inq. p.m. 66 (38), E. file 643 (18).
Hace 5 días · The fourth daughter of Sir William Sidney, she was born in 1531, and married in 1555 Thomas Radcliffe, Viscount Fitzwalter, afterwards Earl of Sussex. She died on 9 March 1589, and was buried in Westminster Abbey. Her will is a lengthy document with a large number of bequests.
