He was succeeded by his brother John, who seems to have left the manor of Bessels Leigh to his second son, William John. The latter was succeeded by his son Kyffin John William Lenthall, who had a son and heir Edmund Kyffin.

The parish lies chiefly on river gravels of the First Flood Plain terrace, fringed by a wide band of alluvium in the east and south which includes the site of Moreton.
