  2. Hace 4 días · Edward John Stanley (Baron Stanley of Alderley) was born in 1802 and entered Parliament in 1831 for Hindon, Wilts. He was Under-Secretary for the Home Department in 1834, and from 1835 to 1841 Patronage Secretary to the Treasury, and Chief Whip of the Whig party. In 1841 he became Paymaster-General.
