Hace 5 días · Trinity College was established by letters patent of 8 Mar. 1554/5 and charter dated 28 Mar. 1555 'infra scitum et praecinctum cujusdam domus meae vulgariter vocatae Derham College', which Sir Thomas Pope had bought on 20 Feb. 1554/5 from Dr. George Owen and William Martyn, to whom it had been granted by the Crown on 4 Feb. 1553.
Hace 2 días · Among the architectural features in the College grounds, Trinity Bridge over the river, W. of New Court, was rebuilt to the designs of James Essex in 1764–5. The cost, £1,500, was defrayed from a bequest of Dr. Hooper, whose arms it bears. The materials from the old bridge of 1651–2 were used in the substructure.
