Platoon is just on the cusp of being too serious for Call of Duty fans, but I would be remiss not to include at least one Vietnam film (for the soundtrack if nothing else). And of all of them, Platoon justifies the action with the least emotionality or plot.

The audience watching Rosemary’s Baby doesn’t think creepy, weird things can happen in the daytime and Polanski fools them. Similarly, Hawk films this part of his comedy in darkness.
