Rachmaninoff is widely considered one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music .
Hace 4 días · It is the conquest of light over darkness in this often-dark work that Rachmaninov celebrates with the most brilliant sounding colors of the orchestra. This is quite impossible to do on a piano ― even two of them. But Gryaznov nearly accomplishes it in the coda.
