During this expedition, the Spanish fought Utina tribesmen in Florida, Chickasaws in Mississippi, the Coosa chiefdom in present-day Georgia, and Chief Tuskaloosa at the Battle of Mabila in present-day Alabama.

Reports of Spanish losses were up to 12,000 men, including more than 150 ships and 200 cannons salvaged for use in the fortifications of Algiers. Algerian losses didn't exceed 200 men.
