Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort (1673 – 1716) was born in Montfort, France, the eldest surviving child of eighteen siblings. From an early age, he had a great devotion to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and to Our Lady. He recited the rosary often and would go into the local church before and after class to pray before the tabernacle.
