Hace 3 días · 杉原 千畝 （すぎはら ちうね、 1900年 〈 明治 33年〉 1月1日 - 1986年 〈 昭和 61年〉 7月31日 ）は、 日本 の領事館員のち 外交官 （ 1943年 ）。 中学校入学までは税務官吏である父親の異動のために各地を転々とし、父親の単身赴任後は名古屋に住んで、旧名古屋古渡尋常小学校と旧第五中学校に通い、卒業後に上京して早稲田大学高等師範部英語科（現・教育学部英語英文学科）に通ったが、外務省留学生試験合格のために本科中退した。 第二次世界大戦 である1939年から リトアニア の カウナス 領事館に赴任していた杉原は、 ナチス・ドイツ の迫害により ポーランド など欧州各地から逃れてきた難民たちの窮状に同情。
