  4. Hace 5 días · He founded the Mathematical School at Christ's Hospital in 1673 and, two years later, following concerns over French advances in astronomy, he founded the Royal Observatory at Greenwich. He maintained an interest in chemistry and regularly visited his private laboratory.

The rent was later paid by Christ's Hospital. Wilson probably lived in 15 c. 1522-4 and in 1544, when he was taxed as a resident of St. Pancras parish and Cordwainer ward.
