I'm currently reading "A Philosophical Inquiry into The Sublime and Beautiful" and something I am skeptical of with Burke the notion of a generality of taste amongst all human beings. His argument is that any exception of taste is merely that "the organs of this man are out of order and that his palate is utterly vitiated".
