Hace 3 días · In 1536 the manor was granted to Edward Seymour, Viscount Beauchamp, later Earl of Hertford (1537) and Duke of Somerset (1547). In 1545 Hertford transferred it to John Capon, Bishop of Salisbury. The bishop leased the manor in 1548 to Henry Britton or Breton, for ninety-nine years.
