Hace 3 días · The origin of the manor of ERLE is uncertain, but in 1284–6 Geoffrey de Erle held a fourth part of a knight's fee in Pitstone of the heir of William de Longespée, Earl of Salisbury, who held of the Earl of Cornwall, and he of the king. Geoffrey still held in 1302.
