Hace 2 días · In 1606, the younger line of Nassau-Siegen was split off from the House of Nassau-Dillenburg for John VII "the Middle". As Dillenburg eventually was inherited by a younger son of John VI (see below), the line of Nassau-Siegen became the elder line of the Ottonian House of Nassau.

A new history of the Netherlands and the royal house” by Dorine Hermans and Marchien den Hertog, do mention how the Nassaus eventually ended up in the Netherlands.

My mother gave me these postcards recently, likely dating from the 1950s to the 1970s. The first black-white postcard shows the castles of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
