  2. Hace 4 días · The Talbots' third passed to Francis's son Charles (d. s.p. 1718), created duke of Shrewsbury in 1694, who settled his Oxfordshire lands on his cousin George Talbot (d. 1733), brother of the 13th earl.

  3. Hace 5 días · The manor then descended with the barony of Strange of Blakemere to the Talbots, earls of Shrewsbury from 1442, being held by dowager countesses 1473-6, 1538-67, and 1590-1608. On the death of Edward, 8th earl of Shrewsbury, in 1618 the manor was divided into three, and so it remained until the early 19th century.
