Hace 2 días · Anne's one-time betrothed, Henry Percy, 6th Earl of Northumberland, sat on the jury that unanimously found Anne guilty. When the verdict was announced, he collapsed and had to be carried from the courtroom. [citation needed] He died childless eight months later and was succeeded by his nephew.
Hace 5 días · In 1536, the castle was briefly besieged by royal forces after the 6th Earl of Northumberland, Henry Algernon Percy, joined the Pilgrimage of Grace, a northern Catholic uprising against Henry VIII. [^3] Although the rebellion was suppressed, the Earl was eventually pardoned.

Hace 3 días · Henry Percy (d. 1489), earl of Northumberland, regained his father's earldom in 1470. (fn. 58) He appears to have vindicated his title to Dagenhams and Cockerels in 1474 by a collusive lawsuit against his father's trustees, (fn. 59) and in 1482 he sold the manor to Avery Cornburgh.

At his death in 1455 he was seised of the manor of Topcliffe.
