The north aisle, rebuilt after the fall of the tower, has a modern arch into the organ chamber on the east and three late 15th-century three-light windows and a blocked doorway in the north wall. The parish of Hartford covers 1,879 acres of which 12 acres are land covered by water. The soil is clay with a subsoil of gravel which occasionally comes to the surface and is worked in gravel pits.
