Formerly identified as his cousin Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire (father of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII). The costume resembles the one worn by Henry VIII in the cartoon for the lost Whitehall Mural (and the many portraits derived from it).
