A survey undertaken in 1770 (fn. 41) shows that the extent of the Holland estate was 237 acres, including one nine-acre field on the Hammersmith side of the parish boundary.

When the Earl of Ilchester entered into possession of the Holland estate the total income from rents was £3,227 (of which approximately £130 was for property in Hammersmith). The rate of interest on the mortgage debt of £40,000 was at a stated 5 per cent, reducible to 4 per cent by punctual payment.
