Hace 4 días · The admiral married Frances daughter of Admiral Boscawen, and was succeeded by his son General John Leveson-Gower, M.P., who died in 1817. He was second in command in the disastrous La Plata Expedition of 1805.
Hace 1 día · In 1731 Grace and Jane's son John Leveson-Gower, created Earl Gower, conveyed the manor to Sir Thomas Clarges (d. 1759). (fn. 60) Clarges's grandson Sir Thomas (d. 1783) was awarded 752 a. at inclosure in 1777, (fn. 61) and another Sir Thomas (d. 1834) had 1,955 a. in Sutton in 1823.
Hace 3 días · From his grandson and heir of the same name, who died unmarried in 1689, Stittenham passed to his uncle Sir William Leveson-Gower, whose son Sir John, in 1703 created Lord Gower of Stittenham, was succeeded by his son John, lord in 1744, afterwards Viscount Trentham and Earl Gower.
