Hace 5 días · At the death of Laurence de Hastings, Earl of Pembroke, in 1348, one fee was held of him by John de Mowbray in Bozeat, and another by William Latimer (son of the last-named William). After this date the Mowbray mesnelordship is not again recorded.

Hace 4 días · In the reign of King John William de Mowbray built a chapel of St. Nicholas in Thirsk. It was evidently a building separate from the church, for in 1267–8 Hugh de Burton fled there when accused of horse-stealing and committed suicide within its walls.
Hace 2 días · In 1129 Pickwell and Leesthorpe were held by Roger de Mowbray, who had acquired all Geoffrey's land in Leicestershire. The Mowbray family continued to hold Pickwell and Leesthorpe as tenants-in-chief until the 15th century.
