Williams of St. Paul and Minneapolis as coadjutor bishop of Camden, New Jersey, which is currently headed by Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan. The appointment was publicized in Washington May 21 by Cardinal Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States.
