  5. Louisa Countess of Antrim was the daughter of General Charles Grey who had been appointed Prince Albert's private secretary in 1849 and, after the Prince's death, Queen Victoria's. Her grandfather was the Prime Minister Earl Grey of the 1832 Reform Bill. The collection contains some papers relating to both Louisa's father and grandfather.

  7. After her marriage, Lady Louisa Jane Grey was styled as Countess of Antrim on 1 June 1875. She held the office of a Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria between 1890 and 1901. On 16 April 1895 she was granted the rank of an earl's daughter.3 She was appointed Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.) 3rd class.
