Hace 4 días · John, second Baron Montfort, was implicated in the murder of Piers Gaveston in 1312, but was pardoned in 1313. He was killed at the battle of Stryvelin in 1314, and was succeeded by his brother Peter. This Peter was a priest, but on succeeding to the barony he repudiated his orders and married.
