George V also wrote letter of patents for Patricia of Connaught to remove her Princess title and she became Lady Patricia - by I believe request. Wallis Simpson never got a HRH and Edward by letters of patent was stripped of all royal titles and was then granted a dukedom. Diana (and Fergie) also through letters of patent were stripped of HRH.
