Fifteen thousand two hundred eighty five (15,285) candidates wrote this assessment. The results being released gave a report on the candidates’ performance at National Grade Six Assessment.

Like she said, she studied really hard; our dream was never about being in the top 10, it was just to accomplish her goal of going to Queen’s College. She never had a number two school. I am super proud of her for topping Georgetown and second overall.

Only about 800 students can be placed into institutions traditionally categorised as “top schools (Queen’s College, Bishop’s, Rose’s, etc). Regardless of placement, Minister Priya Manickchand has assured that students will still excel.

Alisha Scheller of the Success Elementary School at Eccels, East Bank of Demerara (EBD) has topped this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and is among 194 students who will be attending Queen’s College in the new academic year. She earned 503.34 marks out of a possible 504.24 marks that were up for grabs.
