Hace 4 días · Sigismund Thalberg (1812-1871) was a virtuoso piano player, who did not shy away from showy improvisations and compositions: there was a tangible debate as to who was the better pianist between him and Liszt. But Chopin didn’t like his antics: Thalberg used to wear diamond shirt buttons; one could say that he was the Liberace of the 19th century.
