Hace 4 días · Sir Thomas D‘Oyly Snow: WWI General and Battle of the Somme Commander. Dan‘s great-grandfather Sir Thomas D‘Oyly Snow had a long and distinguished military career. Born in 1858, he joined the army as a young man and saw action in several colonial conflicts, including the Anglo-Zulu War. But it was during WWI that Snow truly made his mark.

Rawlinson and Wilson became close friends, often staying and socialising together, and Rawlinson introduced Wilson to Lord Roberts in May 1893, whilst both men were working on a scheme for the defence of India. Wilson became a protégé of Roberts.
