Hace 4 días · An estate held by Ernesi in 1066, later called the manor of PAINSWICK, evidently passed to Walter de Lacy (d. 1085) and was held by his son Roger de Lacy in 1086 and until his banishment in 1096. The estate was possibly the caput of the Lacy lands east of the Severn and was held in chief.
