Ada Lovelace was an incredibly interesting character outside her mathematical and programming accomplishments as well. Her father was Lord Byron. Her mother divorced him only a month after her birth and he was killed fighting in a Greek revolution when she was 8. Her mother bore a huge grudge for Byron rampantly cheating on her.
