Hace 1 día · Christ Church, Oxford, was patron from the mid 16th century. From the 16th to early 19th century the parish was connected with or involved in recusancy. The Catholic Yate family of nearby Buckland (formerly Berks.) owned one manor in the late 16th and early 17th century, and their successors, the Greenwood family, included many recusants.
