You know the story, even if you’ve never seen the play or movie: Phonetics professor Higgins (Tom Rooney) bets his friend Colonel Pickering (David Alan Anderson) that he can transform the gruff Eliza (Kristi Frank) into a proper English lady through language and proper pronunciation.

Shaw's plot was derived from Latin poet Ovid's story (in the Metamorphoses) about a character named Pygmalion who fell in love with a beautiful ivory statue of a woman.

You need to remember that My Fair Lady comes from the 1912 George Bernard Shaw play Pygmalion, a time when attitudes were very different. Of course, you need to retain the heart of the story, but Charlotte’s Eliza is superb, and boy can she sing.
