Hace 1 día · In Scotland, the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005 gave the Scottish Gaelic language its first statutory basis; and the Western Isles region of Scotland has a policy to promote the language.

Two surveys ran in parallel – one on Scots and one on Gaelic. The main aim was to systematically investigate and collect detailed information for each of the languages.
