The chase began around I-20/59 from where state troopers pursued the vehicle along I-65 SB into Alabaster city limits. Alabaster police said the driver collided with multiple vehicles before coming to a stop just past Highway 31.

The Alabama State Troopers reported a trooper tried to pull over a Volvo XC60 for speeding, but the driver refused to stop and a pursuit began. That happened on Interstate 20 just west of Pell City just before 7 a.m. June 4.
