Hace 4 días · Song of the Day: “Philly” Joe Jones, “Salt Peanuts”. “Philly” Joe Jones was one of the major percussionists of the bop era, as well as one of the most recorded of the period. Known as the drummer for the first “Great” Miles Davis Quintet, Jones also recorded a number of notable albums as a leader.
Hace 4 días · The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival at Rodney Square in Wilmington in 2023. This year is the 37 th year the festival is in downtown Wilmington, running from Wednesday June 19 to Saturday June 22. Wednesday to Friday the mainstage performances start at 5:30 pm and run until 10 pm.
