Hace 2 días · During the reign of Anne, the Queen was served by a varying number of ladies of the bedchamber, appointed by royal warrant, who performed the same duties as lords of the bedchamber did for a male sovereign. Eleven were appointed in 1702; by 1714 the number had fallen to eight. They received lodgings and salaries of £1,000. (fn. 1) 1702. 12 May.
