Hace 5 días · In 1802 the Marquis of Stafford & Co. was dissolved, to be replaced by the Lilleshall Co., a new partnership between the marquess's second son, Lord Granville Leveson-Gower (cr. Viscount Granville 1815, Earl Granville 1833), John Bishton the elder, James Birch, John Onions, and William Phillips.
Hace 3 días · In 1823 the marquess settled the manor for life on his son George Granville, Earl Gower (2nd duke 1833). After the 2nd duke's death in 1861 the manor continued to descend with the dukedom. (fn. 35) Most of the manorial estate, except in Donnington Wood, was sold by the 5th duke (d. 1963) in separate lots in 1914 and 1917.

Hace 2 días · Wall Grange then descended in the Leveson, later Leveson-Gower, family until 1911 when it was sold to the tenant, Robert Bennison. The owner in 1991 was Mr. S. G. Clowes. By the late 15th century the estate was evidently leased to members of the local gentry, some of whom lived there.
