Hace 1 día · On January 16, 1941, Secretary of the Army Henry L. Stimson gave the go-ahead for a “Negro pursuit squadron” of pilots who would be trained in Tuskegee, Alabama. According to the National WWII Museum , Tuskegee was selected because of its location, which had good weather for flying, and because the Tuskegee Institute was already training Black civilian pilots.
