Thompson, 1790) was “very scarce,” owing to the fact that John Ryland, Jr. (mistakenly called “Dr. Ryland’s son”—it was the younger Ryland who had the honorary doctorate not the elder) “bought all the copies he could procure, and destroyed them.”
