The Taiga drama Kusa Moeru had a scene which I will never forget: Hojo Yoshitoki's army chases Minamoto no Yoriie's wife, Wakasa and her young son Ichiman to kill them. They corner them and Wakasa (carrying Ichiman) and other women prefer to die in flames (you see them running towards them and then hear them scream in agony).
