Hace 4 días · The church of St. Michael was built by Wulsin, sixth abbot of St. Albans, in the tenth century. (fn. 216) The church was confirmed to the abbey by Honorius III in 1219, (fn. 217) but in the time of Abbot John de Hertford (1235–60) some difficulty arose with regard to it which could only be settled by an expensive mission to Rome.

Hace 3 días · St. Michael's Church is situated within the city of Verulamium, a grant of the site of which the abbey did not receive till some fifty years later. It is improbable that the abbot would build a church on land which was not his, and therefore that this church was built till early in the 11th century.

However, this appearance connects to the fight between the Byzantines and the Lombards from 662-663, in which the Greeks attacked the Sanctuary of Gargano.

We pray to Mary and all the saints to intercede for us. Personal and communal prayer is a hallmark of the Catholic faith. We pray to strengthen our relationship with God and to grow in faith and love.
