Hace 4 días · The Swaffham manor, by 1400 called BURGH HALL or BURGHALL, descended to Philip's son Thomas, still under age in 1243 (d. 1284). Perhaps after 1260, (fn. 98) he granted it for life to John of Burton, who possessed 330 a. of demesne at Swaffham in 1279 (fn. 99) and into the 1280s.

In 1260 Burrough was held by Philip's son Sir Thomas de Burgh, who died in 1284. His son Philip died a year later, the manor passing to Philip's son Thomas, then aged 7.
