Hace 1 día · John Egerton, fourth Earl of Bridgwater, Viscount Brackley, and Baron Ellesmere, had succeeded to his father's titles in 1686. He was descended from Thomas Egerton, the brilliant lawyer and statesman, who had held office under Elizabeth I and had been Lord Chancellor from 1603 to 1617.

Lord Ellesmere, who also bore the title of Viscount Brackley, died seised of the manor in 1617.
