Hace 3 días · Captain William J. Fetterman (1833-1866) was the son of Lieutenant George Fetterman (West Point Class of 1827). George resigned his commission a year after the death of his wife in 1835. William Fetterman joined the Union Army during the Civil War; he was twice brevetted for bravery in combat and advanced to lieutenant colonel of U. S. volunteers.
