Hace 2 días · In 1683, Charlotte Herbert inherited the castle and Glamorganshire estate from her father, the 7 th Earl of Pembroke, but it was after her granddaughter, Charlotte Jane Hickman-Windsor married John Stuart of Bute in 1766 that South Wales started to see a transition from a rural landscape to an industrial one – and the Bute family was one of the main reasons why.
