This is the third town of this name having been twice burnt. The houses are large, and the streets are broad and at right angles to each other, and is one of the most airy clean towns I have seen in Germany.

Hace 4 días · The entire Isenburg possessions were unified as a souvereign territory within the Rheinbund in 1806 but due to the Vienna congress had to be given to the Grand Duchy of Hessen-Darmstadt in 1815. The two branches of the family existing until today, the princes of Isenburg-Birstein and the princes zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, were considered as coequal to the ruling families thereafter.
