I grew up with my folks watching shows like Cheers and even as a kid understood some of the humor but I was still a kid. As a side note I do love the older humor of that and earlier eras because it was cleaner and genuinely funny through sarcasm and wit rather than the vulgarity much of today's humor embodies.
