David Cameron of Lochliel was the Chief of Clan Cameron. He was 77 years old when he died on October 23, 2023. Lochlief was a "trusted friend of the Royal Family."

The smiths' company was recorded in 1601, with a wide range of craftsmen. The range increased in the 17th century, and in 1648 the company had 95 members.
